Egg Harbor
Township is located in the geographical center
of Atlantic County, about eight miles west of Atlantic City. There are
two major highways which cross inside our township: The Garden State Parkway
(north to south through New Jersey) and the Atlantic City Expressway (from
Philadelphia to Atlantic City, west to east). Other major roads which go
through EHT are US-40 and US-322.
Egg Harbor Township's 64 square mile area is divided into two parts by the towns of Somers Point, Linwood, Northfield and Pleasantville. We have 9 local communities within: English Creek, Scullville, Steelmanville, Bargaintown, McKee City, Cardiff and Farmington west of the divide, West Atlantic City and Seaview Harbor to the east. Each community has it's neighborhoods. We have major Shopping Centers and Malls, Industrial Parks, Marinas, large and small Office Complexes, an International Airport, The William J. Hughes Technical Center (FAA Research Center), Restaurants, Motels and Hotels, an Art's Center, Neighborhood Stores, Schools, Churches and thousands of homes. Nearby are two major colleges. Our Residents enjoy a quality life. We are a town of volunteers: Fire Departments, Rescue Squads, Sports Organizations, School Organizations, Youth Organizations, Civic and Neighborhood Organizations. You will find volunteers serving in local government, on our School Board, at our Senior Citizen's Center and in our Arts Center. No matter where you travel within our town, you are likely to find the American Flag flying, neighbors visiting and children playing. Egg Harbor Township is where you should live and work. |
